Bailey Jackson
Bailey Jackson enters his 11th year as athletic director. The Clover, SC native and Clover High School graduate was named the basketball coach at Clover on June 5, 2012 and the athletic director at the conclusion of the 2016 school year. As the school's athletic director, Jackson has seen participation numbers for athletics increase each year and has been twice selected as the Region Athletic Director of the Year (2018, 2020). Prior to serving as the athletic director, Jackson was an assistant principal at CHS for 5 years, the athletic director at Fort Mill HS for four years, and a social studies teacher for 11 years. As AD at FMHS, Jackson was selected as the Region AD of the Year twice and the statewide AD of the Year in 2010.
Coaching Experience:
Basketball...In 11 seasons at Clover, he has taken the Blue Eagles to the AAAAA playoffs 10 times and has won 2 Region championships. In 24 seasons as a basketball head coach, Jackson's teams qualified for the state playoffs 23 times and he finished with a career record of 334-255. After serving as an assistant coach at Travelers Rest from 1995-1998, he nabbed his first head coaching position at Buford High School and led the school to its first playoff berth in 21 seasons during his first year. In four seasons Buford, Jackson led the Yellow Jackets to the Class A playoffs 4 times and set a school record for wins in a season in 2002. In his only year at Chesnee, his team upset top-ranked West Oak on the road in the Class AA playoffs. Jackson then coached the Fort Mill High School boys basketball program for 8 seasons. In only four years, he helped deliver the school’s first state basketball championship since 1974 by winning the title in 2007 after posting a 25-4 record. That same year he was named coach of the year by five different organizations, including the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association and the National Federation of State High School Associations. During a 3 year stretch at Fort Mill (06, 07, 08), Jackson’s teams were a combined 66-18, won 2 region championships, one upper state championship, and one state championship. Jackson has been named region coach of the year 4 times, coached in the 2015 North/South All-Star game, coached in the 2019 Carolinas Classic All-Star game, and has served on the SC Basketball Coaches Association Board of Directors. Jackson has also coached football (8 seasons), cross-country (3 seasons), and boys golf (7 seasons). Jackson’s 1998 golf team at Travelers Rest HS won the Western AAA Championship and the AAA State Championship and Jackson was named region coach of the year and state coach of the year. Jackson has a B.A. in Secondary Education: History and Geography from Clemson University (1996), a M.S.S. in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy (2006), and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University (2009). In addition, Jackson has earned the prestigious CMAA (Certified Master Athletic Administrator) designation from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
